The face of the pad features CCM’s all new Molded Knee Roll design which is design to create stability through the knee area of the pad while achieving controllable rebounds around the knee area of the pad. The Molded Knee Roll works hand in hand with the visual design of the pad, giving the goaltender the choice to integrate or break up the design. Throughout the entire Extreme Flex 5 Pad, you will find CCM’s proprietary “SpeedSkin” synthetic stamped material that creates a new level for style and function. It is design to perform the best out of all materials offered and is meant to increase the ease of sliding and glide that a goalie needs.
The CCM EF5 features the same Dual 1te Core Technology which promotes torsional flex to maximize movement on the goalie’s feet and works with the stiff thigh rise to create a better, more consistent seal on the ice. The face of the pad will feature Control Rebound Technology which will work together with the Dual1iteCore Tech to create a more flexible pad throughout the boot. This Control Rebound tech is a soft material that is designed to dampen rebounds to allow the goaltender to take control of in tight situations.
CCM has raised the inside edge with a Dual Density molded construction to create a better seal with the ice for more efficient cross-crease movements. Further back to the leg channel, an all new leg channel design adds more durability and design option through the middle of the pad. Returning for the strapping is CCM’s Quick Motion strap that promotes a responsive connection between the goaltender and their pad that can be adjusted quickly. The QMS sits on the outside of the leg channel and goes through a loop on the opposite side to pull back and get a secure fit.
The knee lander is designed with a 3D Grip Injection-Molded EPP Foam with raised inner edge stabilizers for excellent pad seal and maximum impact absorption to take ease off of the knee stress of goaltending. Finally, down at the boot, a deep 90-degree boot with torsional flex and a bungee toe string system creates a lightweight profile with quicker transitions to the butterfly.
