Love bikes? Actually ride one? We should talk.

At Sportwheels Sports Excellence, we're looking to add a Cycling Enthusiast to our Bicycle Sales & Service Team — someone who genuinely loves bikes, enjoys riding, and wants to turn that interest into a great job.

First things first: you need to genuinely enjoy cycling.

You own a bike. You actually ride it.

Maybe you're into mountain biking, road riding, gravel, commuting, or just getting out and exploring local trails. You know some of the local places to ride, you've probably done some basic maintenance on your own bike, and you're interested in learning more.

You don't need to be an expert or an experienced bike mechanic. We're happy to help you develop those skills.

What we can't teach is a genuine enthusiasm for bikes and cycling.

What You'll Do

You'll work alongside our Bicycle Sales & Service team, helping customers get more out of their bikes and their time on them.

  • Help customers choose bikes, parts, accessories and upgrades
  • Talk bikes with everyone from first-time riders to experienced cyclists
  • Assist with bicycle service intake and write clear, detailed work orders
  • Perform basic bike maintenance and repairs based on your experience
  • Learn from our experienced mechanics and continue developing your technical skills
  • Help assemble and prepare new bikes
  • Keep the bike department and service area organized and ready for customers
  • Become someone our customers can trust for practical cycling advice

You're Probably a Great Fit If...

  • You own a bike and actually ride it regularly.
  • Cycling is something you genuinely enjoy — not just something you've tried
  • You know some of Nova Scotia's local trails, routes and riding areas
  • You've done some basic maintenance on your own bike
  • You're interested in bikes, components, gear and learning how things work
  • You're comfortable talking with customers and helping solve problems
  • You're dependable, curious and willing to learn
  • You enjoy working with your hands and aren't afraid to get them dirty

Bike Shop Experience? Great. No Bike Shop Experience? That's Okay Too.

Formal bike-shop or professional mechanic experience is not required.

We're more interested in finding someone who genuinely rides, loves bikes, has some basic hands-on knowledge with their bike and wants to learn more.

Bring us the enthusiasm and the right attitude. We can help with the rest.

Position Details

We're currently hiring for both Part-Time and Full-Time opportunities, with the potential for Part-Time to grow into Full-Time.

Daytime availability is important, and Saturday availability is required.

This could be a great fit for someone looking to build a career in the cycling industry, or simply a bike enthusiast who thinks spending their workday around bikes and other cyclists sounds pretty great.

  • Paid Sick Time & Bonuses
  • Flexible Vacation & Time-Off Requests
  • Blue Cross Medical Plan for Full-Time employees
  • Access to our massive sporting goods inventory at wholesale pricing
